I will quit Kotoko if they ever bribe a referee -Steve Polack

Kumasi Asante Kotoko Head Coach Steve Polack has vowed to quit his role as Head Trainer if he gets word of any form of bribery or corruption within the club.

Kotoko were accused of bribing the referee after they were controversially handed four penalties in their 1-0 win over CARA Club of Brazzaville in the CAF Confederation Cup game on Sunday.

Polack has since quashed those suggestions describing the accusations as a disgrace, and says he will quit the Kotoko job if the club is ever implicated corrupt activity.

“I looked at their coach and he was looking at me as if I was the one giving the penalties. But I am not a referee and I think it’s a disgrace for anyone to say I bribed the referee,” he said.

Don’t say that I bribed the referee because I would never do that.

No club I have managed has ever bribed a referee, and if I get word of any such activity I will walk, and I don’t care how big the club is because I don’t want to be involved in such things.”

The 57 year old Englishman extended his contract with the Porcupine Warriors in November after leading them to MTN FA Cup glory last season.
